My name is Li Mei, and I am the mother of Xiaoyu, my precious two-year-old daughter. On May 1st, 2025, someone we trusted, her own uncle, did something unimaginably cruel. He deliberately set Xiaoyu on fire, leaving her with severe burns over most of her tiny body.

Every day is a battle. Xiaoyu cries in pain from her treatments, sometimes screaming in the middle of the night. She is so small, so innocent, and yet she has been forced to endure horrors no child should ever face. She should be laughing, running around, and playing with her favorite toys, but instead she lies in a hospital bed, her little body covered in bandages, fighting to survive.

I watch her helplessly, wishing I could take the pain away. The medical bills are overwhelming, and we also face the heavy costs of legal action to ensure justice is served and that Xiaoyu can grow up safely, away from the person who hurt her.
